After a foiled attempt to reach Haiti’s quake zone (due to armed gangs trying to loot aid) Dr. Manigat’s Ouanaminthe Community Medical Center (OCMC) team reached the affected towns of Pico and Marceline to deliver aid provided by Infused Impact’s donors.
Dr. Manigat reports that in Marceline at least 60% of the homes have been destroyed, including churches & schools. There have been approximately 250 deaths so far, many hospitalized, and lots of bone fracture patients. In Pico more than 200 houses destroyed, the people are desperately waiting for help. This earthquake was simply catastrophic, creating an overwhelming need for aid, healthcare, water, and temporary shelters.
Today the OCMC team will be distributing food & medicines in the community while providing urgent medical care to those in need.
