This week Dr. Manigat and his Ouanaminthe Community Medical Center (OCMC) team have been delivering medical assistance, food, clothing, medicine and water to those affected by the earthquake in South Haiti. According to news reports the death toll is officially more than 2,200 and widespread devastation has affected 40% of the population (about 800,000).

Many villages and small towns in this region have been hard to reach, with only small amounts of aid getting through in these first few weeks. It’s not just landslides, or the huge cracks in the roads, but armed gangs looting aid have also been an issue.

Shortly after hearing about the quake Dr. Manigat (an Infused Impact client) reached out saying he wanted his business to help. He created a list of supplies needed and quickly mapped out travel logistics. This cost effective solution by a local Haitian venture was possible thanks to our generous partners who donated the supplies, transportation, and OCMC team costs.

Dr. Manigat reports that the need in the region impacted is overwhelming and more can be done. Funds donated for our Haiti quake appeal will help support ongoing relief efforts in the region.
