Green Garden’s founder, Guiler, has been testing green onions as a new crop. These veggies have been growing very well, but over the last month the local market has become saturated with onions, driving down prices. So it’s been decided that lima beans will be planted as a replacement. In addition to having a stable price at the market, they’re highly resistant to the local fungus and release lots of nitrogen into the soil – perfect for future crops.
The time required for product development and research is key for any business, as is the ability to adapt and change while keeping the company going. Guiler’s tenacity, combined with his agriculture knowledge/skills clearly is a huge asset during the early years of his young company. We are excited to see the next round of Green Garden’s produce!
