In this time of Peace on Earth, Good will to men, we are reminded that this is not a time of peace for many, particularly the Ukrainian people. It has been our great honor this past year to help the Ukrainian people by supporting the incredible relief work of our Romanian partner, Fight For Freedom.
Many of you made gifts in the early part of the war and now, at year-end, we have an amazing opportunity to step in again with support to Fight For Freedom. Here’s the incredible work that your funds will go directly to:
- Operation Orphan Rescue: Beginning in July, 2022 and at the request of the Ukrainian government, Fight For Freedom has been taking in Ukrainian orphans and children who are placed at mortal risk by a brutal campaign of the Russian army to abduct and remove Ukrainian orphans to Russia. To date, Fight For Freedom has rescued 175 children and is providing housing and full-time care in their 5 facilities in Romania. In January, that number will increase to 485 children. It’s a massive and heroic undertaking, worthy of a massive support response!
- Food & relief aid deliveries into Ukraine: Every week, Fight For Freedom sends 3-4 convoys delivering food and relief items throughout Ukraine. Working with a network of partners, they reach places in the greatest need, and places other NGOs will not go.
We’ve spent time on multiple trips to Romania and have seen the work ourselves. We’ve gotten to know the leaders and workers; we’ve visited the facilities; we’ve hugged the children; we’ve heard their stories… The time is now to make a difference in these dear lives!
